new additions

So today has been spent in my pjs, sniffling, reading His Dark Materials (amazing books!) and shopping. I would like to introduce you to three new additions to my wardrobe. I don't think I'll be able to wear the dress till it gets a bit warmer outside, which is sad cause it's just so pretty. But I have to say the coat and the boots are what I am most proud about. The boots were just 26 and the coat was just under 40. so i am so happy for my thriftiness.




I'm getting ready for Sunday....there is supposed to be a Superbowl party at my house and I have been designated to duty of nachos. I'm assuming because my nachos are AMAZING! yeah I'll brag about that. maybe I'll put the recipe up soon. it's basically just chili and peppers and cheese for the toppings.
Anywhoo happy Superbowl Sunday! if it's not a holiday it is now!

As I was reading through my friend julies blog today she gave me the idea to look at some of my old music. I found my old snow patrol cds and i have now become as addicted as i was six years ago. So i got the new cd today.
I love how weird i am with my music. I have this 'mine' quality with my bands it's almost childlike. I never wanted to share my toys with any other kids and that's how i am with music. wow i'm a selfish bitch sometimes. But sometimes.....just sometimes if i like you enough i feel like i'll let you into my little known secret music selection. I was like that with Fall Out Boy, Kate Nash, taking back Sunday, the gossip, brand new and Snow Patrol. it's like once they get on mtv they're fucked.

anyways this is going to be a totally pointless post that involves nothing but me ranting. so beware.

Ok so i am getting to the age where all of my friends are either married or getting married. so i did what most women of 23 do i was bored so i started looking at wedding dresses. mind you i have never been the type of person who has ever wanted to be married. My childhood was ruff and i hated my father and i just assumed that all men were like him so i made a vow at 13 that i would never get married. I'm 23 now and my great-grandmother calls me an old-maid to my face - one can only wonder what she says behind my back. She keeps telling me that if i'm not married by 25 then no one will want me because i'll be old. She has even gone as far as trying to set me up with one of my cousins -he was distant but totally gross. my great- gran was married at 16 and had children by 17. My gran was the same way. So they keep telling me that i'm loosing all my eggs and i'll never get to have kids if i don't go ahead and get married. Funny right?
My life is seriously like a soap. I've now realized not all men are like my ex-dad but i like the idea of pissing off my great-gran by not getting married for a while.
